These woodchips are reclaimed from genuine Jim Beam barrels (barrels that have been used to mature sour mash whiskey in the past). The increase in surface area from the wood chipping process means a faster development of colour and flavour compared to staves or barrel ageing. Soaking craft bourbon, whisky or neutral spirit on these chips will add a smooth texture, and sweet sour mash flavour.
